July-August News from The Portland Wine Bar and Winery Tasting Room

Construction in Manzanita Starts Next Week!

We finally have permit in hand and will begin excavating the site next week!  Excavating and pouring the foundation should take about 3 weeks.  Framing would then start shortly thereafter.  I'm hestitant to project an opening date at this time, so stay tuned for an update!

Indiegogo Campaign Runs until August 15th

We've shifted the crowdfunding campaign from Kickstarter to Indiego, as we did not reach our goal and Kickstarter is an all or nothing platform.  For Indiegogo, both parties receive the funding and rewards, even if the goal is not reached.  We have 19 days left in the campaign and have thus raised $4,255 of the $15,000 goal.  With your help we'll build out the interior tasting room and if we exceed the goal, be able to buy equipment for the production area in the back of the winery building, all on-site in Manzanita.

Wine of the Month

Enjoy an ocean of manako (mango) flavor with our Mango wine. Mangoes are packed with vitamins (A, C and E), antioxidants and minerals.

Our Mango Kai tropical mango wine features organic fruit from Kauai, Hawaii. For those wine drinkers with a sweet tooth, our Mango Kai has the highest residual sugar (demi-sec) of our tropical wines, pairing well with saltier dishes such as Kalua pork or a stand-alone after dinner drink.

Original: Our Mango Kai is the only mango wine in the islands.

If you like an off-dry Riesling, this is the wine for you!

Wine Tasting at Hot, New Cafe in SE Portland

We had a great time last night at reFRESH, located at 2860 SE Gladstone in southeast Portland, pouring our wines, which were expertly paired with our Pinot gris, Pineapple, Guava, Marechal Foch and Pinot noir.  The wines delighted the patrons and passerbys, as did the food.  Pinot, who was also in attendance, was of course a big hit.  It was a nice way to introduce the neighbordhood cafe, our wines and the tasting rooms in Portland, Waikiki and soon Manzanita!  B sure to stop by reFRESH for great Water Avenue Coffee and espresso drinks, paninis, beer and wine.  Their lox bagel and mimosa combo on the weekends are not to be missed!

The summer is flying by and I'm trying to balance the work with some fun.  Planning to do another kayak outing this week before the warm weather returns!

Cheers,
Mark
